DO NOT USE THESE THIEFS! If I could give negative stars I would run out of negative stars to give. Finally got moved and settled into our new home (via Uhaul), no thanks to these absolute scam artists. Had to move our closing dates on both homes because, we were quoted just over $4000 to move from Des Moines Iowa to Lincoln Nebraska. We went over all our items via a phone call and were given the above quote. The day they showed up, it was two men, one started wrapping furniture and preparing the move while the other guy did an inventory. After he spent 3 and a half hours doing 4 inventories, putting stickers on children's play toys, separate sticker on a pot and the plant in the pot, to get our item count up, we were then hit with the shocking news that our new estimate was anywhere from $13,000 to $17,000, to move 2 hours away. They tried telling us this was misquoted and there was no other option, and we would have to pay the new price and that our items would take up an entire semi trailer. We had to be out of our home the following day and with no other options had to take more time off of work, and load everything into a Uhaul by ourselves with our 2 year old and 11 month old at home. Lo and behold we were able to fit everything into a 26 foot box truck Uhaul, not near the size of their 52 foot trailer that we would have apparently filled.

Again, I cannot say enough to never use these dishonest, lying, deceptive, scam artist, thief's ever.

Reading the other reviews this seems like a common occurrence with this despicable company, I am just fortunate that I told them to get out of my house before they held my items hostage and forced us to pay their new OUTRAGEOUS fee, like they apparently have with many others.

Do not recommend

This company is ok if you have double or triple the quote given. We were quoted a really good price for moving halfway across Iowa. $4,600 for the move. This included a partial pack and delivery and reassemble the furniture. They seemed nice. The first day the movers wanted us to buy them lunch and did the same the second day. They purchased used boxes for our move and used at least half a roll of tape on some of the boxes. Extremely waste full. Two days after we scheduled for delivery, they sent us an invoice for an additional $5,900. They would not deliver until it was paid. We told them we would pay the balance when our stuff was delivered but they insisted they would not deliver until we paid the additional cost that was not quoted. I know it was just a quote, but to miss the mark by over half is not good. They would not work with us until we got the local law enforcement involved. This review would be slightly better if they had just delivered when they said they would and not held our household goods ransom. We even told them we would square up the bill when they delivered. I am guessing this is not the first time they have done this to someone. I do not recommend they seem to be operating on miscommunication, deceit and bad faith.

Great experience overall. The crew was friendly, professional, and easy to work with. I was very pleased with how everything was handled from start to finish.

Working with Jon was especially pleasant. He got me a great deal on pricing and helped me avoid booking with a brokerage, which I really appreciated.

There was some minor damage at delivery, but customer service was responsive and resolved the issue quickly.

Great fit!

Mid-American take excellent care of your belongings. I stored my items with them for nearly four years, and when it was time for everything to be moved back, they did a fantastic job. Everything arrived in the same condition as it left, and nothing was damaged during the process. They really know how to handle things with care.

The team was polite and professional throughout, and they worked diligently once they arrived. I appreciated how they carefully managed all of my possessions, especially since I had a few delicate items like books and personal memorabilia. Even though a few of my books ended up getting wet during the move, I have to say that overall, the way they handled my stuff was impressive.

Alex dispatcher also kept me informed along the way. They gave me a call shortly before the movers were en route, which was helpful, so I knew when to expect them. If you’re looking for a company that prioritizes the safe handling of your things and has polite staff, Mid-American could be a great fit! Just make sure to plan accordingly, and they’ll do the rest.

The mover worked quickly and carefully with our things, wrapping each one carefully. Once more, the delivery team was polite and took extra care to make sure the box got there unharmed. It was nice that they put together our beds, cooking table, and dining room table.

They Took great care off My items

Great guys, would definitely pick again.

Great guys, would definitely pick again. The owner, was very flexible with my personal and financial needs for my move. Everything I gave them was wrapped so professionally and I feel very comfortable that my stuff will be in good shape (have not had delivery yet). This was actually my second time using them, and once again they were amazing! They showed up right on time and were super professional the whole way through.
